Valley of Fire State Park
- Valley of Fire is the closest state park to Las Vegas and was officially designated a state park in 1935, making it Nevada's first state park and largest state park.
- The name of the valley comes from the red color of the sandstone formations and the distinct beauty of the Mojave Desert. Throughout the park are petrified trees and 3,000-year-old ancient petroglyphs depicting ancient trees and early human figures.
